About Andrea:

As a professional and creative photographer, Andrea Gulickx is known for her workshops and presentations on macro photography, abstract landscapes and smartphone photography.

Andreas creations often have a dreamy atmosphere and she plays with a narrow dept of field and light. Creativity has been running through her blood since childhood. After her education in fashion she started working as a freelancer designing children’s clothing and graphical prints.
Because of her enthusiasm and artistic streak, she is always looking for unknown dimensions. Experimenting and creating is what Andrea prefers to do no matter what the subject is.

Her photographic ‘de Waal bewogen’ project with abstract and poetic landscape images resulted in a sponsored exhibition in 2016. In 2017 she self-published the Book “de Waal bewogen” in which these poetic landscapes are displayed in combination with poems.
After the ‘Waal’ project she needed a new challenge. In addition to nature, she is now also conquering the city with her smartphone and Lensbaby. She does this with her own vision.

Today Andrea is a professional photographer with many workshops in her calendar and she loves to share her way of working during presentations. Her creative vision and the way she is conducting her workshops, brought the photographer to Seattle and Alaska. There she was conducting workshops on invitation of the creative and talented photographer Jackie Kramer.
She loves to be on stage sharing her big passion with the audience or online with different platforms such as Zoom or Teams.

Andrea says:'I am a self taught photographer.'

All my life I have worked with colours, shapes and composition. And now… with photography…. it all comes together. Ever since I can imagine I love nature and it’s magical treasures. Small things, who sometimes, never gets noticed.A big passion of mine is macrophotography. For me it feels like it’s painting with light and colours. I am really in the spell of light. I love how it changes everything around us, again and again. The shadow-play and backlight can be so magical. Waterdrops, dew, frost or fog are also my favorite. Specially in the morning. So fragile and refreshing.
I love to travel with my friend and enjoy life and it’s diversity of people, animals, landscapes and light situations.
There is a woman who couldn’t have said it better how I feel about photography and I would like to share it with you.

I hope my pictures may touch you in a way that nature touches me. I hope you see what I see.
